Suzuki Indonesia officially launches Ertiga Diesel Hybrid

Torque and efficiency makes it more interesting… 200Nm and 4.4L/100km

Suzuki Indonesia has officially launched the Ertiga Diesel Hybrid variant earlier today. This latest variant is imported from India, unlike the other Ertiga variants which are locally built. Before this launch, the three main variants for the Indonesian-market Ertiga are the GA, GL and GX. A special top-spec Dreza variant is also available.

The new Ertiga Diesel Hybrid is powered by a D13A engine that shares the same 1.3-litre capacity as the petrol burner. With its DDiS (Diesel Direct Injection System), the vehicle is able to generate 89bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm at 1,750Nm. That sounds a lot tastier than the 130Nm from the petrol variant.

We don’t have much information yet about the hybrid system, other than Suzuki’s claim that it helps to maximise efficiency and giving 22.6km/litre (4.4-litre/100km). The ‘regular’ Ertiga, including Proton’s, has an average fuel consumption figure of 6-litre/100km.

Interestingly, the Ertiga Diesel Hybrid only comes with a manual transmission.

Local distributor PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales has put a Rp219 million price tag to it, equivalent to RM72,919.

With that much torque and efficiency, do you think a diesel Ertiga variant should be in Proton’s consideration for the Malaysian market?
