Proton issues recall for Inspira and selected Exora CPS 1.6

Move to correct turn-signal defect (Inspira); and fuel-line inspection for the Exora

Proton recall 1

Proton has just issued a recall for the Inspira sedan and selected Exora CPS 1.6-litre models. The vehicles are being recalled for different reasons.

The former is in reaction to a similar move made by Mitsubishi Motors Japan on 18 February 2016 regarding defective right-turn indicator switches in selected models. As the Inspira is a rebadged Mitsubishi Lancer, Proton has initiated this recall involving about 20,330 units of the Inspira. This is limited to cars manufactured within 2010 to 2014.

Meanwhile, the Exora CPS 1.6 recall is for a precautionary inspection of the fuel-line in the powertrain compartment. The issue to the fuel-line is not detailed, however. In any case, this involves approximately 90,000 vehicles, manufactured between 2009 and 2015.

Owners of affected vehicles are advised to make an appointment at their preferred Proton service centres for inspection. All costs be it for labour or parts, if any, are borne by Proton.
