Proton: all bidders are still in the picture

Despite what is said by some publications, Proton says nothing negotiations are still ongoing

In an announcement issued just minutes ago, Proton has declared that all bidders to be Proton’s Foreign Strategic Partner (FSP) are in the running and the process to chose one will be complete by the end of second quarter 2017.

This puts a question mark on the recent report by a foreign news publication stating that Geely has formally pulled out of the process.

Proton stresses that the procedure (in finding an FSP) is complex, one where DRB-HICOM intends to ensure a win-win situation for both parties. The statement also says that ‘It is a common process of negotiations that the bar is raised and lowered throughout the process, depending on what is put on the table.’
