Regas Premium Auto inaugurates new Heritage section in flagship Kuching dealership with BMW 700 Coupe on display

BMW dealer Regas Premium Auto has launched a new Heritage section at its flagship outlet in Kuching Sarawak. To commemorate the milestone, the company unveiled a rare BMW 700 Coupe, which is now proudly on display for public viewing at the facility's new Heritage Section. 

The BMW 700 is a compact rear-engined coupe which was manufactured between 1959 and 1965. Despite its short production run, 190,000 units were sold. 35,000 of these were shipped in 1960 alone, with some crediting the car for saving BMW from near bankruptcy 60 years ago. 

Based on the chassis of the BMW 600, the 700 has distinct Italian influences in its design thanks to designer Giovanni Michelotti. As its name suggests, the 700 Coupe is powered by a 700cc engine, which is paired to a four-speed transmission carried over from the 600.
