Production-ready LC 500 Convertible could appear at Goodwood?

We suppose you remember the Lexus LC 500 Convertible Concept, if nothing else because that’s one good looking car. It may be a concept as the name implies, but the company would be crazy to not commit this into production. Hip-hop artists the world over would be so disappointed…

It seems that there are strong hints that that’ll happen (the Convertible going into production, that is, and not sad rappers). Reports have emerged that Lexus will bring a production-ready model to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, a quick double-exposure after the concept was also paraded at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance event held last weekend.

What we really want to know is what sort of roof will it have – a folding hardtop would eat into what already is a minimal amount of boot space, and we imagine that a fabric/soft top just wouldn’t flatter that LC shape well enough.

In any case, Lexus needs an LC without a roof. How else can they keep up with BMW and Mercedes which insists that every model can have an endless amount of variations?
