MV Agusta launches a more 'rider-friendly' Brutale 1000 RS

The 2022 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS still has over 200hp with a top speed of over 300km/h

MV Agusta has just launched its latest 2022 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS which is said to be a high-performance exotic two-wheeler that's more accessible for all riders in terms of power, comfort, as well as your wallet. Think of it as a watered-down Brutale 1000 RR, but only by a very small margin.

For a price tag that's over RM34,000 cheaper than the bonkers Brutale 1000 RR, the RM130k MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS was able to slash the price down by replacing its semi-active Ohline suspension package with a fully-adjustable Marzocchi 50mm USD front fork and Sachs rear shock.

The Brutale 1000 RS' riding ergonomics have also been changed for better comfort thanks to revised clip-on bars, footpegs, and a newly designed comfort seat as compared to the much more aggressive Brutale 1000 RR. Design-wise, it's still a very muscular beast which is still very sexy in our books.

As for firepower, the Brutale 1000 RS is not that different from its manic RR brother as it comes with the same 998cc inline-four engine that produces 208hp at 13,000rpm and 116.5Nm of torque (same as the RR). The power-to-weight ratio, however, has slightly changed thanks to its new dry weight of 196kg (10kg more than the RR).

Other notable specs include:

  • Brembo Stylema brake package
  • Continental MK100 ABS system with Rear Wheel Lift-up Mitigation & cornering function
  • Aluminium alloy single-sided swingarm (with adjustable pivot height)
  • MV EAS 3.0 electronic quickshifter (up and down)
  • Six-speed manual transmission
  • 16-litre fuel tank + many more

The price tag for a brand new 2022 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS in the UK market is expected to be around £22,800 (around RM130k) and it'll be available in Silver/Grey or Red/Grey colour combos.
