Michelin introduced the latest Energy XM2+ tyre to the Malaysian market yesterday, targeting budget-conscious customers with a focus on safety and tyre performance. As one can expect, it was designed to outperform the previous generation, specifically in wet braking, and suitable for small- and mid-size passenger cars.
With its full silica rubber compound, Michelin claims that the new Energy XM2+ can shorten braking distance on wet roads by up to 1.5 metres when new when compared to the average of other premium tyre manufacturers. Once more worn, the same distance may reach 2.6 metres. The Energy XM2+ is also said to outlast tyres from other premium manufacturers by up to 25 per cent in mileage.
The product maintains the Green ‘X’ marking of its predecessor, indicating its capability to optimise fuel savings.
“We hope the combination of enhanced safety and superior value-for-money will particularly appeal to the younger consumers,” said Pascal Nouvellon, managing director of Michelin Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.
The new Michelin Energy XM2+ is now available at Tyreplus and all other authorised Michelin dealers in Malaysia. Sizes available are from 14- to 16-inch diameters, in a total of 32 sizes.
