Mazda CX-5 Turbo price revealed – RM181,770.40
As previously reported, Mazda Malaysia (Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd) have already previewed and open up bookings the revised Mazda CX-5 crossover line up, which now features a new and turbocharged range-topper.
Well, Mazda have finally revealed the prices for all variants of the repackaged CX-5, along with several notable new changes in the line up of the locally assembled (CKD) model.
We’ll kick things off with the new range-topper, that being the CX-5 2.5T 4WD High variant. We’ve already driven this new flagship offering to Penang and back for the recent rollout of the CX-8, and there’s much to bask in.
As the new range-topper, the 2.5T variant replaces the previous CX-5 2.2 GLS Skyactiv-D AWD. Powering it is Mazda’s turbocharged 2.5-litre 4cyl mill, delivering 228bhp and 420Nm.
In comparison, the naturally aspirated 2.5-litre 4cyl mill slotted in the variant below it delivers just 192bhp and 258Nm, thus making the new flagship as the peppiest CX-5 you can buy today.
As the range-topper, the CX-5 2.5T 4WD High get brimmed with all the bells and whistles, namely all-wheel-drive (AWD), full-LED lighting with adaptive LED headlight tech, as well as the full swing of Mazda’s i-Activesense driver aid suite.
Fully loaded, it’s no surprise to see this flagship now commanding the highest asking price of RM181,770.40 excluding insurance.
For those yearning for an oil-burning CX-5 still, Mazda have kept one variant of such slotted below the range-topper. It loses AWD, but mirrors the flagship turbo variant’s spec everywhere else. This variant commands RM172,532.80 sans insurance.
Slotted below the oil-burner are three more variants, those being a mid-spec 2.5G 2WD High, as well as the 2.0G 2WD High and the entry-level 2.0G 2WD Mid variant. These are priced at RM167,770.40, RM154,379.20 and RM137,379.20 respectively (without insurance).
By the way, all prices will include Mazda’s five-year or 100,000km warranty and free service programs, the latter covering labour, parts and lubricants.
