Lynk & Co is coming to Malaysia!
Geely has some big plans by 2025, including bringing in Lynk & Co into Malaysia
Geely Auto Group has mapped out a very interesting plan in the coming years. Called the Smart Geely 2025 Strategy, it involves boosting the sales of all the brands under its umbrella to 3.65 million units by 2025, introducing of 10 intelligent and electrified models, but the most interesting of all, expanding the Lynk & Co brand to other countries, including Malaysia.
By 2025, the Geely Auto Group is set to exceed 600,000 sales overseas by focusing on several key markets around the globe such as Eastern Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America. As for Lynk & Co, you can expect to see this brand entering countries like Australia, New Zealand, and most importantly, Malaysia.
Apart from that, Geely has also mentioned that it'll "continue its support for PROTON with the goal of making the brand No.1 in Malaysia and top 3 in ASEAN markets with further introduction of new technologies and products." That is all in the works by the year 2025 and the national automotive industry is set for quite a shake-up in the coming years.
Ever since its inception back in 2016, Lynk & Co has been turning heads with some very interesting models and achievements unlocked within a short period of time. In 2019, they won a race in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). At the time, they were the first Chinese manufacturer in an FIA-sanctioned world championship. They also claimed the team's title that year, followed by another driver's and team's titles in 2020.
