Limited-run Bentley Bentayga V8 First Edition lands in Malaysia

By daryl, 06 October 2020

When we first sampled the 2021 Bentley Bentayga in Malaysia a couple of months ago, we revealed that the the heavily facelifted luxury SUV will go on sale with a single V8 engine and a starting price of RM743,900 before duties and taxes. The Mulliner Driving Specification-equipped Bentayga we tested easily takes this figure past the RM1 million mark. But Bentley Kuala Lumpur now has an equally alluring, limited-run deal that keeps things just within the six-digit region.

Enter the Bentley Bentayga V8 First Edition, a specially decked-out version of Crewe's best-seller that's only available for a limited period from its launch date. Interestingly, the First Edition package includes the Mulliner Driving Specification which adds on 22-inch blacked-out wheels and sports pedals. The Bentley Dynamic Ride active roll control system and Touring Specification are also part of the First Edition bundle.

Naturally, this limited-time variant is also peppered with First Edition badging to ensure onlookers are aware of its pedigree. Buyer also have a choice of having the seats embroidered with the words 'First Edition', or simply with the Bentley Wings to keep things looking original. Speaking of the cabin, the Bentayga First Edition also includes the 1,780W Naim for Bentley audio system as standard.

Things remain the same under the hood, not that any more is needed when there's a four-litre V8 with 542bhp and 770Nm of twist on tap. The Bentayga will do 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds all the way to a top speed of 290kph. With those figures in mind, perhaps the First Edition's asking price of RM935,000 before duties, taxes, insurance and registration isn't so farfetched after all.

Bentley Kuala Lumpur adds that limited deliveries of the new Bentayga will commence this quarter (Q4 2020), with showroom units arriving soon.
