Lamborghini sold 4,553 vehicles globally in the first sixth months of 2019. At first glance that does not sound all that impressive, but that’s actually 96 per cent more than the same period last year – almost double. In fact, that number alone beats the ENTIRE sales figure for 2017.

The reason for this amazing sales growth: the Urus. Lamborghini reports that 2,693 units of these Super SUVs were delivered between January and June 2019.

The super sportscars ranked second with the Huracan – including the Performante and Evo (the latter began sales in June) recording 1,211 units sold. The Aventador saw 649 units delivered, and the company credits this mostly to the SVJ model.

The American market, which saw a growth of 128 per cent to 1,543 units remain the most important market for Lamborghini, followed with China, UK, Japan and Germany. The EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region took delivery of 1,826 units for an increase of 67 per cent compared to the same period last year, while Asia Pacific more than doubled sales to 1,184 units.
