Audi has ‘exciting plans’ for its future electric portfolio thanks to its new partnership with Ken Block

After less than a year since the surprise split between Ford and Ken Block, the ‘Head Hoonigan in Charge’ of the Hoonigan Industries has announced its latest partnership with Audi. The 53-year-old rally driver will assist in developing the brand’s future electric cars as well as other projects related to electric mobility.

We’re not entirely sure how the ‘King of Gymkhana’ will play into all of Audi’s EV portfolio development, but it seems that they have ‘exciting things’ planned with Ken Block that ‘go perfectly’ with whatever strategy they have in store. One thing is for sure; when it comes to Ken Block, it will be interesting and it will definitely have the ability to go fast.

Ken Block recently paid a visit to Audi’s HQ in Ingolstadt, Germany, where he got to taste some of the brand’s fine examples of racing vehicles such as the Audi Sport Quattro S1, a DTM V8 Quattro, and the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo. In most cases, it’s good to be Ken Block right about now.

According to the Head Hoonigan, “Audi is the brand that ignited my passion for motorsport. I am extremely excited to start this new chapter. Together, we will develop innovative projects and push the boundaries of electric mobility.”

“Electric mobility is the future. I see the electric car as a leap forward for us as a society in order to create something that can not only reduce emissions and hopefully make the planet a better place. But not only that: it’s also about performance. I love anything that makes me go faster. Electric cars can do that. And as far as sound goes, I have kids who don’t care about that. They think that the sound of electric cars is just as cool as the sound of internal combustion engines,” added Block.

With that being said, we’re probably guessing that Audi has the EV performance factor covered with the likes of Ken Block. Hopefully, he’ll have a say in terms of what the cars will look like considering his taste in his own personal collection of ‘Hoonicorns’ has gathered millions of fans (and views on social media) over the years. His next Gymkhana will surely be ‘electrifying’. *badum tss*
