The Honda Civic is one of the most popular models sold in Malaysia, and indeed one of Honda Malaysia’s best-sellers. The numbers speak for itself as since the company began selling this C-segment model, Honda Malaysia has sold a total of 130,000 units, the latest just being delivered to its owner. Currently, the Civic still holds the title as the leader in the segment.

It all started with the introduction of the 7th generation Civic into the Malaysian market in 2001 and reached a sales of more than 9,300 units. The 8th generation Honda Civic reached a sales figure of close to 50,400 units, while the 9th generation saw over 27,000 sales. The current 10th generation model is also a strong seller since it was launched in 2016 with sales that has already exceeded 42,200 units. It is also the first Civic that has a variant with a turbocharged engine (1.5L engine that makes 173ps and 220Nm).

The 130,000th Civic is a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged Premium variant in Dark Ruby Red colour, which was delivered to its owner; Ms. Fatihah Binti Abdul Kadir at one of Honda’s dealership, Botanic Auto Mall Sdn. Bhd.

“I have always been a fan of Honda. Before purchasing this Civic, I previously owned a Honda Stream. I was impressed with the premium and innovative features in the Civic that added more fun to my daily commute. I booked the car early this year and have been waiting expectantly to receive the car. But, to become the 130,000th Civic owner is really a pleasant surprise! I am truly delighted with my Civic and can’t wait to bring it on-the road,” commented Ms. Fatihah who was present at the ceremony to receive her new car.

The Honda Civic is priced from RM108,165 for the 1.8L variant (without insurance), while the turbocharged 1.5L starts from RM120,855. In this month of Ramadan, Honda is rewarding all new customers with special rewards worth up to RM5,000 in the “Enjoy the Special Gifts of Ramadan” campaign. The promotion began on 1st May 2019 and ends on 31st May 2019.
