Ford Ranger now gets a five-year warranty in Malaysia

By daryl, 01 February 2021

The Ford Ranger line-up has received a big aftersales boost in Malaysia, with its original three-year manufacturer's warranty being bumped up to five years of coverage by sole distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC). On top of two additional years of coverage, new Ranger models (MY 2021 onwards) also benefit from a higher mileage cap of 160,000km (versus 100,000km previously) on their official warranty.

The good news isn't reserved to would-be Ranger owners, as existing customers currently on the outgoing three-year warranty are also given the option to purchase two extended warranty plans. The 'PremiumCare' plan provides a two-year comprehensive coverage on over 1,000 components while the presumably cheaper 'PowertrainCare' option focuses the extended coverage on the engine, transmission and drivetrain instead.

We understand that for our Ranger customers, their vehicles are not just point-to-point modes of transportation. They are an extension of their lifestyle – for work and play besides daily commutes for families and loved ones. With the new 5-year manufacturer’s warranty for our Ranger lineup, we aim to provide added value to customers as they go about their life’s adventures
