First 2022 Acura NSX Type S to be auctioned for charity

The very first 2022 Acura NSX Type S will be auctioned at the Monterey Car Week for charity

The latest 2022 Acura NSX Type S was recently announced where only 350 units will go into production. For those living in the US, 300 units will be made available there and the very first model will go up for auction at the Monterey Car Week, California happening on 14 August 2021. You lucky ducks.

Carrying the VIN number #001, the very first Acura NSX Type S outside of Japan will go under the hammer for the sake of charity. All the proceeds from the upcoming auction will be for the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) to support STEAM youth education across the country. What's even more amazing is the fact the winner of the auction can customize his/her Acura NSX Type S to their 'exact specifications'.

Regarded as the 'best-performing' road-legal NSX ever, the 2022 Acura NSX Type S promises quicker acceleration, sharper cornering, and enhanced driving experience than ever. While no details have been released just yet, you can expect its 3.5-litre V6 engine and electric motors to get a decent power upgrade from its current 573hp state.

This is also a historic moment considering that this is the first time that a Type S is sold outside of Japan (and even more so as all 350 units will be built at Acura's Performance Manufacturing Centre in Ohio). How rare is the NSX Type S? Rarer than the 1992-1995 NSX-R. That model had 483 units that went into production.
