Ducati Panigale V4, Panigale V4S make Malaysian debut - From RM146k
The Ducati Panigale V4 and Panigale V4S are priced at RM145,900 and RM188,900 respectively
Following the resoundingly successful introduction of 6 new models during the Ducati 2022 Malaysia Première event held in June 2022, Ducati Malaysia further strengthened its lineup by welcoming the 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 and V4S.
Here to succeed the 1299 Panigale, the improvements on the 2022 models involve aerodynamics, ergonomics, engine, chassis and electronics.
The result is an even faster bike on the racetrack, which is even more intuitive and accommodating for a wide range of riders.
The 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale MotoGP-derived engine remains at the heart of the new Panigale V4 and V4S, but has undergone a series of updates, thanks to the introduction of some dedicated technical elements that allow an increase of power together with even more instant throttle response.
Maximum power is now 215.5 hp at 13,000 rpm, with a power increase of 1.5 hp compared to the previous version, which rises to 2.5 hp over the peak of maximum power at 14,500 rpm.
The engine also delivers 123.6 Nm of maximum torque at 9,500 rpm and provides 80% of the maximum torque available from as low as 6,000 rpm.
The 2022 Panigale V4 and V4S boast an updated Power Mode strategy involving four engine configurations, Full, High, Medium, and Low. The Full and Low modes are newly developed, while the High and Medium Modes, retained from the previous model, now adopt a new strategy.
The brand-new Full Power Mode is the most extreme ever adopted on the Panigale V4 and V4S. A highly focused sports-oriented Power Mode, the new mode allows the engine to express its full potential, with every gear except first delivering a torque curve that is free from electronic filters.
This Power Mode is recommended for use at racetracks with fast turns, long straights, and particularly high levels of grip.
The dashboard on the 2022 Panigale V4 and V4S has also undergone various modifications. The first being the use of external LEDs, similar to those on SBK bikes, to indicate a gear change, in place of the flashing rev counter. This reduces response times and improves the quality of feedback provided to the rider.
An additional Info Mode has also been introduced named “Track Evo”, which has been developed based on the suggestions of MotoGP riders.
It is an option added to the existing Road and Track screen settings. In the “Track Evo” screen mode, the tachometer moves on a horizontal scale positioned in the highest part of the display, which is the most visible, and the indication of the gear engaged is in the center of the screen.
On the right section on the display are four segments of different colours, each dedicated to display the status of specific electronic controls.
The aesthetics and ergonomics of the bike have also received improvements. The distinctive graphic design conceived by the Ducati Centro Stile includes the black color logo application on the full red fairings, a unique red tag on black rims (V4S only), and the double fabric saddle (two-tone on the V4S).
The seat itself has received refinements along with the tank, resulting in improved ergonomics and control of the bike during all riding conditions.
That being said, the list below summarizes the new highlight features of the 2022 Panigale V4 and V4S models:
- Increase in power to 215.5hp at 13,000rpm
