Right then, let’s get this debate started… 

You’ve read the full lowdown on the new Vantage Roadster, and you’ve seen the most obvious change that Aston Martin decided to make (other than lopping the roof off). But which side of the fence are you sitting on, and which mast are you nailing your ‘Q palette’ colours to? 

We are, of course, talking about that face. Yep, Aston has brought back the iconic ‘vane’ grille, inspired by the DB10 and apparently to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vantage nameplate. It’s being introduced on the drop-top version, but instantly becomes an option on the Coupe too. You can however spec the Roadster with the old catfish-style ‘hunter’ grille if that’s what you please. Decisions, decisions…

See the images below to compare the two. The vane grille is definitely softer and perhaps more conventionally pretty, but we’d really grown fond of the mesh grille with its incorporated front splitter. 

It’s also worth mentioning that although both look a little oversized in these low-angle images - in the flesh we reckon the little Aston is an extremely good-looking and well-proportioned car.
