Confirm! Four Audi e-tron EV models are coming to Malaysia this year
The models are the Audi Q8 e-tron, e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT, Q8 e-tron Sportback
Audi Malaysia today announced that it is taking registrations of interest for the brand's all-electric e-tron model range, meaning that if you are interested in buying one of the models mentioned below, you may head to the official website and register your interest.
From what we can see in the official website, four models are slated to make their Malaysian debut in the near future, which are the Audi Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback, e-tron GT, as well as the RS e-tron GT.
While the Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback are full-blown SUVs, the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT are fastback sedan models which will be going against models like the Porsche Taycan just to put things into perspective.
Details like the pricing of the aforementioned e-tron models are yet to be revealed, but what we do know are the numbers revolving around the performance, range, and the charging time.
Firstly, we have the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT that come fitted with a 85 kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of covering up to 487 km with a fully charged battery. In terms of performance, the e-tron GT which produces up to 530 PS and 640 Nm goes from naught to 100 in 4.1 seconds at a top speed of 245 km/h.
The RS e-tron GT on the other hand produces up to 645 PS and 830 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100 in 3.3 seconds while hitting a top speed of 250 km/h.
As for the Q8 e-tron, output and torque figures are rated between 340 and 405 PS, and 665 Nm of torque depending on the variant.
Looking at the range, performance figures, and the specifications of the models, we anticipate all models to be priced well over RM300,000 as these are top-shelf stuff we're looking at here, going against the full range of EVs by the other two German manufacturers.
That being said, more details will surely be announced very soon by Audi Malaysia, so watch this space for updates on Audi's e-tron range.
