Chevrolet’s track-ready Corvette Z06 is on the way

Chevrolet teased its new and improved C8 Corvette Z06 at Le Mans this weekend, and set a date of October 26 for its full reveal. Exciting times.

We don’t know too much about the camo'd up hardcore ‘Vette just yet, although reports suggest it’ll use a 5.5-litre flat-plane crank V8 as opposed to the 6.2-litre LT2 unit of the Stingray. The previous generation C7 Z06 represented a huge improvement over the ‘standard’ car too, so expect fairly major performance gains and upgrades.

Oh, and looks like it’ll have a fairly serious front splitter and rear wing combo, doesn’t it? No doubt it’ll be a bit of a bargain in the US too. Thoughts, Internet?
