Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (EMOS), the subsidiary of Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS) recently announced the price of its latest Sports Cruiser, the Modenas Vulcan S ABS.

The model comes in two different colours and prices: Metallic Flat Spark Black retailing at RM36,500 and Pearl Matte Sage Green at RM37,200 both of which will be available in all Kawasaki Dealer showrooms by end of March 2023.

The alphabet “S” under the Vulcan name features Kawasaki’s renowned 649cc liquid-cooled, in-line four, parallel twin engine, which is also found in the Ninja 650, tuned to achieve maximum linear power of 44.7 kW and maximum torque of 62.4 Nm.

Unlike any other models, the Vulcan S cruiser sets itself apart with the “Ergo Fit” system that uses different handlebars, seats, and a three-position foot-peg mounting system to allow riders of all sizes to use the reduced reach setting, making the bike feel that it was built-to-fit each rider.

To add on, a typical cruiser has a large difference in tire size, but the Vulcan S has an 18-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, which is close to a sports model.

Thanks to its low centre of gravity, the Vulcan S allows its riders to take deep leaning turns with confidence and ease. The inverted triangle headlamp gives it a modern and sporty look.

On top of the headlight sits a compact gauge cluster which sports an analogue tachometer, while all the other information is shown on the multi-function LCD display that uses a blue LED backlight for projecting excellent visibility at night.

At 705mm, the standard seat height is extremely comfortable for the rider. Although the Vulcan weighs a rather hefty 229kg, Kawasaki claims that the motorcycle is easily maneuverable and super comfortable during high and low speed riding. Even at a standstill, the handlebars will feel very light and easy to turn.

“This is one of the Kawasaki models that has long been awaited by the customers out there. It is the motorcycle that is built to fit all sizes, all ages and not only that, but the model will also help welcome edgy riders, old and new into the sport without hurting their wallets too much,” concluded Roslan Roskan, Chief Executive Officer, MODENAS.
