There's a new variant in town, and it's called the 2022 Proton Iriz Active

Proton has finally announced the launch of the updated 2022 Proton Iriz that comes with new design elements for the interior and exterior as well as some enhanced features. There's also a new variant introduced called the 2022 Proton Iriz Active, which is now the new range-topper after the Standard and Executive models.

Priced from RM40,800 to RM54,800 (on-the-road price excluding insurance), the 2022 Proton Iriz comes with redesigned bumpers that blend together with the Iriz's iconic Infinite Weave and Ethereal Bow grille. There are now seven colour options to choose from for the new Iriz, including the newly added Citric Orange (Executive & Active) and Passion Red (only available for the Iriz Active variant).

The front end has also been improved with the addition of LED headlamps plus Daytime-Running Lights that come with auto off/on function as well as the 'follow me home' feature (also available only for the Active model). The Iriz Active is also fitted with a set of new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels (15-inch single-tone for the Standard and Executive models).

Other features include:

• Black roof finish
• New finishing for rear combination lamps
• All-round body mouldings (wheel arches + side sills)

Going to its interior, the 2022 Proton Iriz also features the new eight-inch floating touchscreen monitor (only for Executive and Active variants) which comes with new functions like voice control for the air-conditioning system and driver side window. Other interior updates include:

• New controls for air-conditioning with digital display
• Repositioned air vents
• N95 cabin filter
• New centre console with armrest + improved storage space
• Leatherette wrapped steering wheel (only for Active)
• Semi leather seats with fabric (leatherette for Executive, fabric for Standard)

The standard Proton Iriz is fitted with a 1.3-litre unit whereas the Executive and Active models come with the 1.6-litre engine. All variants come with the same CVT transmission unit. As for pricing, the Standard is available at RM40,800 followed by the Executive at RM47,800, and Active at RM54,800. These are the normal prices without the sales exemption tax. If you're counting that, the prices will be knocked down from RM500-RM800.
