Based on the Triton AT Premium, most enhancements revolve around cosmetics

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia today launched the Mitsubishi Triton Phantom Plus Edition.

Limited to 1,000 units which in Jet Black Mica body colour, the Triton Phantom Plus Edition comes with body kits and accessories such as the decorative roof with LED lighting and a front and rear bumper garnish with red accent.

For a more aggressive stance, the limited edition 4x4 pick-up truck adds on side door moulding, tailgate assist, 'Phantom' tailgate moulding with rear spoiler, sports bar with matte finishing, and a rugged wheel arch with 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels with Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tires to complete its stylish outlook. It is further complemented by sporty ‘Phantom Plus’ body decals.

Moving into the cabin, the new Triton Phantom Plus Edition comes with sporty leatherette seats and red accent carpet mat. It is also equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen Audio with Apple Carplay and Android Ready as standard. 

Powering the Triton Phantom Plus Edition is a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine which produces 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque with Variable Valve Timing technology.

Also part of the package is the Easy Select 4WD with off-road mode for optimum handling characteristics in any given terrain. The Triton Phantom Plus Edition also comes with Hill Descent Control where the vehicle speed is electronically controlled while it is in a descent mode.

Safety wise, the Triton Phantom Plus Edition comes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Active Stability Control (ASC), Traction Control (TC), Rest Reminder, Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Trailer Stability Assist (TSA).

The Triton Phantom Plus Edition is also equipped with a Driving Video Recorder (DVR) offered by MMM authorized dealers as standard at all Mitsubishi Motors showrooms nationwide. It also delivers an impressive turning radius of 5.9m.

Priced at RM139,700 on the road without insurance, the Triton Phantom Plus, which is based on the Triton AT Premium, sits between the Triton Athlete (RM146,600) and the Triton AT Premium (RM126,900) in the product portfolio. 

This explains why there are only two airbags, no LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and no powered driver's seat as these features are only available in the flagship Triton Athlete.

That being said, the Triton Phantom Plus Edition comes with a warranty of 5-Years or 200,000km, whichever comes first.
