The Maxus T60 now makes 155 hp and 425 Nm of torque

The Maxus T60 pickup truck has been upgraded for 2022 with a host of new complimentary upgrades and a bold new face.

For a limited time, all bookings of the refreshed Maxus T60 will now be packaged with a complimentary new performance enhancement kit, dubbed the MAXUS Performance Kit. 

Worth RM 3,000, the kit raises power to 155 hp @ 3,000 rpm but more importantly, it boosts the all-important torque figure from the standard 360 Nm to an impressive 425 Nm between 1,600 – 2,300 rpm.

The improved performance figures have also brought upon improvement to the fuel consumption from the previous combined figures of 9.6-litre/100km to 9.0-litre/100 km. With a large 75-litre fuel tank, the MAXUS T60 is now capable of traversing longer distances before requiring a fuel stop.

The MAXUS Performance Kit is applied to the same 2.8-litre, 16-valve, DOHC VGT Turbocharged engine, and retains the Euro 4 emission standards.

Power can be delivered seamlessly to all four wheels via the 6-speed Punch automatic transmission with the BorgWarner Electronically Controlled Four-Wheel Drive System that allows switching between the modes of 2H, 4H and 4L on-the-fly.

The Drive Mode select switch allows the driver selection between three individual power modes: Eco, Normal and Power.

Eco offers a further 2 per cent reduction in fuel consumption over the Normal default setting while Power offers a 5 per cent increase in performance that will be especially handy in off-road conditions or when carrying a heavy load that’s rated at a maximum of 815 kg or a towing capacity of 3,000 kg.

In addition to the complimentary Maxus Performance Kit, the new Maxus T60 now sports a bold new front grille that carries the name of the marque in an understated but elegant shade of matte black.

While the Maxus T60 now comes fitted with 17-inch wheels, the previously available 19-inch wheels are still available on an optional basis for an extra RM3,000.

The Maxus T60 is also the only 4x4 pick-up that offers front and rear ventilated disc brakes and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Aside from that, the Maxus T60 is also equipped with a Bosch Electronic Stability Program that integrated an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), Brake Assist (BA), Roll Movement Intervention (RMI) for greater stability as well as improved traction at high speeds or in the event of emergency avoidance maneuvers.

The RMI recognizes the threat of an impending rollover from the various sensors and intuitively applies the brakes individually to resist the motion and return stability to the vehicle.

The vehicle is also fitted with Hill Start Assist Control (HAS) and Hill Descent Control (HDC) for navigating steep inclines and declines.

The list of safety equipment include front and side airbags, automatic headlight adjustment, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, two ISOFIX anchorage points and a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) that is activated from 30km/h.

The automatic headlight adjustments in the Maxus T60 automatically adjusts the beam level according to road conditions and rotates in correspondence to the steering input to illuminate the road ahead.

This in addition to the follow-me-home function, Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and automatic headlight sensing features.

The T60 also comes with power-adjustable front seats as well as both forward and rearward folding rear seats for extra storage. A total of 15 storage areas within the cabin further add to the convenience and overall cargo volume of 1,188 litres.

Further enhancing the cabin’s layout is the multifunction steering wheel with the cruise control audio and switches for the integrated 10” inch HD infotainment touchscreen head unit that supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play.

Completing the user-oriented MAXUS T60 is a push-start button, automatic air-conditioning, an aluminium luggage rack, a stainless-steel roll cage, side steps, chrome-plated door handles, chrome-plated electric folding mirrors and fog lamps.

Priced at just RM115,888, the MAXUS T60 omes with a 5 years / 130,000KM warranty but more importantly, a comprehensive aftersales support package that comprises a 4 year / 80,000KM all-inclusive free service package inclusive of parts, lubricants and labour.

That being said, the MAXUS T60 is available in a multitude of colors comprising Obsidian Black, Agate Red, Lava Grey, Blanc White, Aurora Silver and Ocean Blue.
