Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd, the new sole distributor for the Kia brand in Malaysia officially launched the new locally assembled 7-seater and 8-seater variants of the Kia Carnival.

The Kia Carnival is the first Kia model to be locally assembled at the Inokom Assembly plant located at Kulim, Kedah, under the new distributor. 

While the imported 11-seater Kia Carnival will still be sold at a price of RM196,340, the locally assembled version will be available in three trim levels with prices as mentioned below:

• Kia Carnival 2.2L Diesel 8-Seater - RM231,228.80
• Kia Carnival 2.2L Diesel 8-Seater (High) - RM247,228.80
• Kia Carnival 2.2L Diesel 7-Seater (High) - RM261,228.80

Mechanically, the imported and locally assembled versions are identical, powered by a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, producing 199 hp and 440 Nm of torque.

On the exterior, the CKD versions now come with a redesigned tail lamps with a funky LED light bar which runs across the rear. The 7-seater High variant on the other hand gets a sunroof and a panoramic roof.

Last but not least, the wing mirrors are significantly smaller than the existing 11-seater version. So, besides these enhancements, the Carnival CKD is identical with the existing fully imported version.

As for the newly launched CKD variants' additional enhancements, the 2.2D 8-seater High and 2.2D 7-seater High come equipped with Driver Memory Seat, Heated and Ventilated seats, 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, Interior LED lamps, Surround View Monitor and Dual Powered sunroof. 

The range-topping 7-seater High variant is equipped Leather seats and Premium Relaxion seats with center walkthrough seat configuration that provides the ultimate luxury and comfort for 2nd-row passengers.

Another big improvement is in terms of safety and driver assistance features. The Carnival 2.2D 8-seater High and 7-seater High is now equipped with newly added advanced safety features such as:

• High Beam Assist (HBA) 
• Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW)
• Blind-Spot Collison-Avoidance (BCA)
• Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA)
• Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
• Lane Following Assist (LFA)
• Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)
• Smart Cruise Control (SCC)

Offered in five colour choices (Astra Blue, Sonic Silver, Jet Black, Snowflake White Pearl, Meteor Gray), the new Kia Carnival 7-seater and 8-seater variants will come with a 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty with a coverage period of up to five years and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.
