2019 Harley-Davidson FXDR 114 Launched @ AOS 2019

Malaysian Harley-Davidson importers and distributors Didi Resources Sdn Bhd seized the opportunity during last weekend’s Art Of Speed 2019 (AOS 2019) show, launching a brand new and very racy offering called the FXDR 114 here.

Though based off the famed American bar-and-shield’s Softail platform, the FXDR 114’s status as a ‘power cruiser’ by its makers sees this offering favour power, torque and speed above everything else.

In both stance and technical prowess, the Harley-Davidson FXDR 114 takes a lot of inspiration from the world of motorcycle drag racing, hence its liberal use of new weight-saving aluminium and composite components to enhance performance.

At the heart of things is Harley-Davidson’s current-gen Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin. As its name suggest, the mill displaces 114 cubic inches in total. For those wondering, that translates to a whopping 1,868 in cubic centimetres (cc).

In typical Harley-Davidson fashion, the brand is coy about horsepower figures, but did claim a punchy 158Nm of twist at 3,500rpm. Said output goes on to power the wide 240/40R18-sized rear wheel via a 6-speed transmission and signature belt-drive.

Notable here too is the mill’s side-mounted air intake that comes straight out of the drag racing world, offering improved airflow for the powerful V-Twin. There’s also a new 2-into-1 exhaust tuned with a throaty rumbling note and shaped to maximise lean angle.

Unlike the bulk of its siblings and cousins that prefer cruising, the FXDR 114 promises greater handling and agility for those who like to tear up the asphalt carving corners. Much of this is reflected in this power cruiser’s honed chassis too.

Notable bits here include dual 300mm front disc brakes with ABS, high-performance Michelin Scorcher® 11 front (120mm) and rear (240mm) tyres, as well as a pair of sport-tuned 43mm inverted front forks and a rear monoshock amongst many.

Other tasty bits include a full swing of LED lighting front and aft, keyless ignition, not forgetting a USB charging port that come as standard equipment. As with any Harley-Davidson, there’s also a massive catalogue of accessories for owners to customise their FXDR 114 with too.

Speaking of which, Didi Resources will include a Screamin’ Eagle Titanium Muffler and RM4,200 general merchandise voucher for riding gears to customers who purchase and register their new FXDR 114 before 30th November 2019.

Available in Vivid Black, Black Denim, Industrial Gray Denim, Wicked Red Denim, Bonneville Salt Denim, and Rawhide Denim colour choices, the 2019 Harley-Davidson FXDR 114 commands a base price tag of RM122,500.
