Proton has confirmed that the new Persona is open for booking with a fee of RM300 beginning today. According to the company, this amount is refundable under any circumstances.

The second generation Persona took a long time coming after the nameplate was first introduced in 2007. The new car comes with a 1.6-litre VVT engine that is shared with the Iriz hatchback. You can read our list of Persona ‘must-knows’ here.

Proton’s latest press release also includes an indicative pricing; and the new Persona is sold for a price between RM47,000 and RM61,000 (for Peninsular Malaysia).

In East Malaysia, the price ranges between RM49,000 and RM63,000.

The three main variants of Standard, Executive and Premium comes in CVT or manual gearbox. Buyers can also choose whether to include the purchase with a bodykit.

There are six available colours which are Cotton White, Fire Red, Sterling Silver, Graphite Grey, Quartz Black and a new colour, Carnelian Brown.

Every purchase comes with a 3-year free service package which include parts and labour charges. This introductory offer is valid until 30 September 2016 as part of the Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations.
